46So Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of Israel numbered by their clans and families all the Levites 47from thirty to fifty years old who came to do the work of serving and carrying the Tent of Meeting. 48And the number of men was 8,580. 49At the LORD’s command they were numbered through Moses and each one was assigned his work and burden, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Tents!
Look at what Paul’s says:
2 Corinthians 5: 1Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4So while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5And God has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come.
Just as Moses had a temporary tent to live in and a Tent of Meeting to meet the Lord we also a a temporary earthly tent ⛺️ from which we groan!
I look forward to my eternal house in heaven!
