32They served Joseph’s brothers separately from him and the Egyptians who ate with him, because Egyptians would not eat with Hebrews, since that was detestable to them. 33They were seated before him in order by age, from the firstborn to the youngest, and the men looked at each other in astonishment. 34When the portions were served to them from Joseph’s table, Benjamin’s portion was five times larger than anyone else’s. So they feasted and drank freely with Joseph.
When you sat down for a meal with your family did someone eat something that you considered detestable?
My father was born in the south and my mother made cornbread in a cast iron skillet. After dinner my father would take a piece and put it in a large glass and fill it with milk. He would eat it with a spoon.
It’s a texture thing with me, I couldn’t eat that as I would gag!
Or is there someone you wouldn’t eat a meal with because you consider them detestable?
Reconciliation is around the corner!
The brothers can’t figure out why they are seated by age and why Benjamin received five times more food.
This paints a picture of our Father in heaven towards all that love Him.
He brings order to our chaotic world!
How much more does He provide for us than we deserve?
Blessings, David
