John 21
20 Peter turned around and saw behind them the disciple Jesus loved—the one who had leaned over to Jesus during supper and asked, “Lord, who will betray you?” 21 Peter asked Jesus, “What about him, Lord?” 22 Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow Me.”
Poor Peter, he suffered from foot-in-mouth disease when it came to Jesus. How many times was he rebuked by Jesus? Off the top of my head, I can think of at least three. Here Jesus tells Peter to mind his own business. That is some advice we all need to hear from time to time.
When we focus on what's happening with others, we are not focusing on what is happening with us. When we focus on the actions of others, we are not focusing on our own actions. When we are focusing on what others are doing, we are not focusing on what we should be doing.
This week, when our minds start focusing on other people's business, stop, pray for them and refocus on ourselves.
Blessings, Cecilia
