Judges 18:25 NKJV
Lest angry men fall upon you, and you lose your life: This event and these words illustrate the general lawlessness in Israel during this long period of the Judges. The children of Dan stole Micah’s idol simply under the principle of “might makes right.” (Guzik)
”Then the children of Dan went their way. And when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back to his house.“ Judges 18:26 NKJV
When Micah saw that they were too strong for him: They were too strong for both Micah and his gods. One should never have a god that needs protection. (Guzik)
“One should never have a god that needs protection”!
There are a lot of worldly gods that need protection but I have never studied one time in the Bible that the One True God needed protection! I am reminded of a verse where Jesus states:
“Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? but how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?” — Matthew xxvi. 53, 54.
Jesus declined legions and willingly gave Himself up as a lamb for our salvation at the request of the Father!
The false gods of this earth need protection but please remember this quote from C. H. Spurgeon:
“O brethren, remember that we have a Father in heaven. When all is gone and spent, we can say, “Our Father.” Relatives are dead, but our Father lives. Supposed friends have left us, even as the swallows quit in our wintry weather; but we are not alone, for the Father is with us. Cling to that blessed text, “I will not leave you orphans; I will come unto you.” In every moment of distress, anxiety, perplexity, we have a Father in whose wisdom, truth, and power, we can rely.”

Has any other god given himself up as a sacrifice for your soul?
Remember if it can be broken or stolen it’s not a god!
If Micah’s gods were stolen, were they really gods?
“O brethren, remember that we have a Father in heaven.”!
Blessings
