25When you enter your neighbor’s grainfield, you may pluck the heads of grain with your hand, but you must not put a sickle to your neighbor’s grain.
“The idea is that, as one traveled they had the right to pick off a few grapes or heads of grain to eat along the way. It wasn’t the right to harvest from your neighbor’s fields, but to provide for your own immediate needs.” (Guzik)
Luke 6:1-5
My wife grew up on a farm and all the farms in the area grew field corn for livestock. They enjoyed watching the city slickers drive down their road, pull over and run out into the field and steal ears of corn 🌽. They were in for a surprise when they tried to eat it! 🤣
We entered natures vineyard on a recent camping trip and enjoyed blueberries, high bush berries and raspberries in our yogurt for breakfast!
Have you ever entered a neighbor’s vineyard or grainfield and eaten your fill?
Blessings
