Leviticus 21:1-4 Purity and Separation!

1Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron’s sons, the priests, and tell them that a priest is not to defile himself for a dead person among his people, 2except for his immediate family—his mother, father, son, daughter, or brother, 3or his unmarried sister who is near to him, since she has no husband. 4He is not to defile himself for those related to him by marriage, and so profane himself.

Purity and separation!

Death is the result of sin in this world.

It’s a picture of sin’s result especially the rapid decay.

The Lord required purity and separation but allowed for the priests immediate family.

Luke 14: 1One Sabbath, Jesus went to eat in the home of a leading Pharisee, and those in attendance were watching Him closely. 2Right there before Him was a man with dropsy. 3So Jesus asked the experts in the law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”

4But they remained silent.

Then Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him on his way. 5And He asked them, “Which of you whose son or ox falls into a pit on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?”

6And they were unable to answer these questions.

Notice in Luke 14, “One Sabbath”, “watching Him closely” and “Right there before Him was a man with dropsy.”

Do you believe any of this was a coincidence?

I believe they were trying to set Jesus up so they could arrest Him.

Jesus came to heal (rescue) a world full of sin and death.

John 3: 16For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The Lord gave us free will, it’s your choice to believe or not to believe.

That is the question!

Do you believe?
