39If an animal that you may eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean until evening. 40Whoever eats from the carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until evening, and anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until evening.
NASB 39 Also if one of the animals dies which you have for food, the one who touches its carcass becomes unclean until evening.
Have you ever hunted for food? Field dressing isn’t very pleasant and then you have to skin and butcher the carcass. Butchering is an art form that many don’t achieve perfection. A couple of years ago I found a YouTube video of a scientist that demonstrates and explains how to butcher a deer by muscle groups. I now use his video when we are successful during hunting season.
Animal fur can carry ticks and unseen parasites.
“the one who touches its carcass becomes unclean until evening.”
Father knows best!
