18If men are quarreling and one strikes the other with a stone or a fist, and he does not die but is confined to bed, 19then the one who struck him shall go unpunished, as long as the other can get up and walk around outside with his staff. Nevertheless, he must compensate the man for his lost work and see that he is completely healed.
Personal injury and compensation laws! Unfortunately the deceitful have abused these and turned them into more than what was intended by God.
Some people have no honor.
I had a friend, God rest his soul, who was a private jet pilot. He flew around the world transporting dignitaries. His employment contract stipulated the compensation he would receive if he was let go. He got in on the ground floor and helped build the company. One day the company changed management and he was let go.
He was a honorable man and instead of bankrupting the company he asked for and received $25,000. Instead of his contract stipulated terms.
It was interesting management was unaware of his contract!
He used the funds to open a different business.
How would we react if we were injured and lost ability to work?
The answer is simple.
Just ask yourself, what would Jesus do?
Blessings, David
