8The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, 9“When Pharaoh tells you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ you are to say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a serpent.”
10So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD had commanded. Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent.
11But Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers and magicians of Egypt, and they also did the same things by their magic arts. 12Each one threw down his staff, and it became a serpent. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up the other staffs.
13Still, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.
Providence; Esther 4:14...And who knows if perhaps you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
One of my devotionals discussed the life of George Washington, how his mother read to him from Esther repeatedly and explained to him about divine Providence.
Providence:
1. (often initial capital letter) the foreseeing care and guidance of God or nature over the creatures of the earth.
2.(initial capital letter) God, especially when conceived as omnisciently directing the universe and the affairs of humankind with wise benevolence.
3.a manifestation of divine care or direction.
As we see in today’s scripture the Lord set over Moses and Aaron “Providence”, directing the affairs of humankind by telling Moses and Aaron what to say and do and the reaction of the Pharaoh. “and he did not listen to them”.
Does the Lord have Providence in your life?
Blessings, David
