Genesis 27:30-33 He will be blessed!

The Stolen Blessing
30As soon as Isaac had finished blessing him and Jacob had left his father’s presence, his brother Esau returned from the hunt. 31He too made some tasty food, brought it to his father, and said to him, “My father, sit up and eat of your son’s game, so that you may bless me.”
32But his father Isaac replied, “Who are you?”
“I am Esau, your firstborn son,” he answered.
33Isaac began to tremble violently and said, “Who was it, then, who hunted the game and brought it to me? Before you came in, I ate it all and blessed him—and indeed, he will be blessed!”

“Isaac trembled most excessively with a great trembling” (Morris)
Could it be because Isaac tried to bless Esau and the Lord said it was Jacob who would be blessed? Issac realizes he was tricked but to his credit won’t reverse the blessing. “he will be blessed!”

“As soon as Isaac perceives that he has been wrong in wishing to bless Esau he does not persist in it. He will give Esau such a blessing as he may, but he does not think for a moment of retracting what he has done — he feels that the hand of God was in it. What is more, he tells his son, ‘He is blessed, yea, and shall be blessed.’” (Spurgeon)

I know how Esau felt, my father’s blessing was taken by two of my sisters. He left a last will and testament but they didn’t honor it and kept everything for themselves.
I honored God by leaving this situation in His hands and praying for my sisters daily.
I believe God has blessed me because of my faith in Him.
But I’m human and if I sense bitterness creeping into my heart I ask Him to remove it.

We will be blessed but will not grasp our full blessings until we meet Him face to Face!

Blessings, David
