Leviticus 8:6-9 Washed, Clothed and Crowned!

6Then Moses presented Aaron and his sons and washed them with water. 7He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod on him. He tied the woven band of the ephod around him and fastened it to him. 8Then he put the breastpiece on him and placed the Urim and Thummima in the breastpiece. 9Moses also put the turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the holy diadem, on the front of the turban, as the LORD had commanded him.

Washed!

1 Corinthians 6: 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Clothed!

Isaiah 61: 10I will rejoice greatly in the LORD,

my soul will exult in my God;

for He has clothed me with garments of salvation

and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness,

as a bridegroom wears a priestly headdress,

as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Crowned!

The 5 Crowns that Jesus will hand out to believer’s include; the Crown of Life (James 1:12), the Crown of Righteousness (2Timothy 4:8), the Incorruptible Crown (1Corinthians 9:25), the Crown of Glory (1 Pet 5:4), and the Crown of Rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19).

Will you earn a crown?

Leviticus 8:1-3 Consecration!

Moses Consecrates Aaron and His Sons

1Then the LORD said to Moses, 2“Take Aaron and his sons, their garments, the anointing oil, the bull of the sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread, 3and assemble the whole congregation at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.”

You are consecrated when you come to Christ!

1 Peter 2: 4As you come to Him, the living stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious in God’s sight, 5you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6For it stands in Scripture:

“See, I lay in Zion a stone,

a chosen and precious cornerstone;

and the one who believes in Him

will never be put to shame.”

7To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,

“The stone the builders rejected

has become the cornerstone,”

8and,

“A stone of stumbling

and a rock of offense.”

They stumble because they disobey the word—and to this they were appointed.

9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for Gods own possession!

What are you waiting for? 

Proclaim the virtues of Him!

Leviticus 7:28-38 Offerings, Sacrifices and Choices!

28Then the LORD said to Moses, 29“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘Anyone who presents a peace offering to the LORD must bring it as his sacrifice to the LORD. 30With his own hands he is to bring the offerings made by fire to the LORD; he shall bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast as a wave offering before the LORD.

31The priest is to burn the fat on the altar, but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons. 32And you are to give the right thigh to the priest as a contribution from your peace offering. 33The son of Aaron who presents the blood and fat of the peace offering shall have the right thigh as a portion.

34I have taken from the sons of Israel the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution of their peace offerings, and I have given them to Aaron the priest and his sons as a permanent portion from the sons of Israel.’”

35This is the portion of the offerings made by fire to the LORD for Aaron and his sons since the day they were presented to serve the LORD as priests. 36On the day they were anointed, the LORD commanded that this be given them by the sons of Israel. It is a permanent portion for the generations to come.

37This is the law of the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the ordination offering, and the peace offering, 38which the LORD gave Moses on Mount Sinai on the day He commanded the Israelites to present their offerings to the LORD in the Wilderness of Sinai.

Jesus Christ fulfilled every sacrifice, for

“He is the Burnt-offering, the Meat-offering, the Peace-offering, the Sin-offering, and the Trespass-offering for His people. By His one oblation of Himself once offered, He has stood in all these different relations.” (Jukes)

The way I see it is we have several choices.

We can say to ourselves, there is no God.

We can attempt to follow the Levitical laws and fall short (fail).

We can follow a god of our own choosing.

With all the previous choices we will suffer the consequences when we meet Him face to face.

Or we can accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and rest in His promises!

Which choice have you made?

Leviticus 7:22-27 You are not!

22Then the LORD said to Moses, 23“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘You are not to eat any of the fat of an ox, a sheep, or a goat. 24The fat of an animal found dead or mauled by wild beasts may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it.

25If anyone eats the fat of an animal from which an offering by fire may be presented to the LORD, the one who eats it must be cut off from his people. 26You must not eat the blood of any bird or animal in any of your dwellings. 27If anyone eats blood, that person must be cut off from his people.’”

Years ago our family knew a couple who were polish and they owned a resort on a lake that consisted of a store and rental cabins. He would ask us on occasion, to pick him up some polish blood sausage from downstate when we drove up north to our cabin. It wasn’t readily available.

I never tried it.

They used to be a cuisine show on a food network about a fellow that traveled around the world eating the most shocking meals he could find. 

I couldn’t watch it!

The fat speaking of (good and abundance) and the blood (speaking of life) belonged to God and had to be given to Him. (Guzik)

Leviticus 7:16-21 A Peace Offering or Mercy, Mercy?

16If, however, the sacrifice he offers is a vow or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day he presents his sacrifice, but the remainder may be eaten on the next day. 17But any meat of the sacrifice remaining until the third day must be burned up. 18If any of the meat from his peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted. It will not be credited to the one who presented it; it shall be an abomination, and the one who eats of it shall bear his iniquity.

19Meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; it is to be burned up. As for any other meat, anyone who is ceremonially clean may eat it. 20But if anyone who is unclean eats meat from the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people. 21If one touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any unclean, detestable thing, and then eats any of the meat of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.”

The more we read through these scriptures on sacrifices and the law, the realization comes to me on the impossibility of keeping the law.

How could the priests keep them all straight?

What was the purpose of mosaic law?

One of the reasons was to,

“Reveal to humanity that no one can keep the Law but everyone falls short of God’s standard of holiness. That realization causes us to rely on God’s mercy and grace.”

What did Jesus say about the experts in religious law?

Luke 11:52 “What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.”

Do you rely on Gods mercy and grace or a peace offering?

Leviticus 7:11-15 Peace Offering, Cakes!

11Now this is the law of the peace offering that one may present to the LORD: 12If he offers it in thanksgiving, then along with the sacrifice of thanksgiving he shall offer unleavened cakes mixed with olive oil, unleavened wafers coated with oil, and well-kneaded cakes of fine flour mixed with oil.

13Along with his peace offering of thanksgiving he is to present an offering with cakes of leavened bread. 14From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering. 15The meat of the sacrifice of his peace offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day he offers it; none of it may be left until morning.

One of my favorite birthday cakes when I was growing up was a Sanders Buttercream Colonial Cake or one my mother made from scratch. The Sanders cake was a two layer round cake with buttercream frosting and the cake was rolled on its side in crushed hazel nuts. 😋 

Will we eat food in heaven? I would like to think so. Jesus ate with the disciples after he resurrected and the Lord found aromas pleasing when sacrifices were made.

Luke 24: 40And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish,c 43and He took it and ate it in front of them.

An Internal Disagreement, light from darkness!

I thought you would enjoy this devotional. Do you remember the time you were living in darkness with no light from above?

I do, it was working for the weekend so I could party like the rest of the world, being sinful and full of lusts for things of the world. I had no hope, just despair. 

Why else would I desire to drown myself by partying?

Then one day my wife drug me to a church, it was different, it was real and the Lord touched my heart ❤️ and said, come to me my son, come to your Father.

I answered an alter call and the light entered my body.

The Lord slowly worked on my mind, body and soul. I started living for Him, doing things for Him. Not for salvation because He had already given me that free gift when I answered that alter call. I did and do things for Him because I love him and He loves me.

We adopted a ten year old that no one wanted because He asked us to.

I tried displaying His light with my daily walk but I’m not a Billy Graham! 

I’m me and He created me for who I am.

I walked the halls of a veterans home shining His light until the pain in my feet was so unbearable and I could no longer do it.

Now I write daily devotionals and every once in a while someone gives me a glimmer of His light with an encouraging word. 

Satan tries to discourage me, the world around us is crumbling but I find hope in Him, in His light.

Can you see His light?

He is waiting for you to invite Him in, into your heart ❤️.

All you need to do is to turn on the light switch from above!

Daily Update July 9 Hear Today's Program

An Internal Disagreement  And God separated the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:4 A believer has two principles at work within him. In his natural estate he was subject to one principle only, which was darkness; now light has entered, and the two principles disagree. Consider the apostle Paul's words in the seventh chapter of Romans: "I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members."1 How is this state of things occasioned? "God separated the light from the darkness." Darkness, by itself, is quiet and undisturbed, but when the Lord sends in light, there is a conflict, for the one is in opposition to the other, a conflict that will never end until the believer is altogether light in the Lord. If there is a division inside the individual Christian, there is certain to be a division outside. As soon as the Lord gives light to any man, he proceeds to separate himself from the darkness around; he withdraws from a merely worldly religion of outward ceremony, for nothing short of the Gospel of Christ will now satisfy him, and he removes himself from worldly society and frivolous amusements and seeks the company of the saints, for "We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers."2 The light gathers to itself, and the darkness to itself. What God has separated, let us never try to unite; but as Christ went outside the camp, bearing His reproach, let us come out from the ungodly and be a special people. He was holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners; and as He was, so we are to be nonconformists to the world, dissenting from all sin, and distinguished from the rest of mankind by our likeness to our Master. 1) Romans 7:21-23 2) 1 John 3:14
